Abstract
In this paper, we propose to look at the practices of those who are in charge of implementing knowledge management strategies in Lafarge. Analyzing four practitioners helps us to underline the practical issues faced by the knowledge managers. A description of four domains of activity allows us to present a typology of knowledge managers in corporations and discuss the competencies needed to become a knowledge manager.
